Bone Doctor Trombone Slide Workstation with rear folding legs closed to give a comfortable viewing angle when using the backlit Straight-edge

A complete tool for the straightening, levelling and 'setting parallel' of Trombone Slides

Comprising:

~ 500mm back-lit Straight edge forming the backbone of the tool

~ Full length 3400°K triphosphor Back-light

~ 2 Levelling Platens forming the side arms

~ 6 sliding PTFE Stops for 'setting parallel' and holding Slide while soldering

~ Adjustable, removable Bow/Brace support (adjusts in/out and up/down)

~ Workstation forms an 'H' square for checking squareness of Bows, Crooks and Braces

All work, including soldering, can be carried out at bench level and in one place, saving valuable workshop space and time

The high luminosity triphosphor Back-light shows up bends and kinks even under bright bench lights and daylight

checking an inner slide for straightness with the Bone Doctor's backlit Straight-edge

view the slide against the straight edge, with the Back-light on, to find any curvature and its direction. Rotate the slide at the straight edge to check all around the tube

Straighten at the bench or on your leg in the normal way - no need to move far from the Workstation

 

Solder at the bench using a fire brick or mat or at the edge into free air

The Platens are 110mm above the bench top as shown here

Fully adjustable Bow/Brace support is fitted to ensure complete control during assembly

 

Note: The Back-light is switched off and the power cord has been removed for this operation
